Wow! The 7-11 beat my predicted opening date by a day! They opened yesterday on Thursday, the 19th! Still pretty amazing when you consider that it was a dirty empty room only 2-2.5 weeks ago. The girls at the office made a little event of it so we all went down together to check it out.
We walked downstairs and to the glass doors but realized that Katy (a.k.a Keyman) wasn't with us so we went back to get her so we could all walk in together. haha.

It's cash only until next week, not all the hot food is yet set up, but you can buy all your basics: drinks, chocolates, instant noodles, cigarettes, alcohol, wine, hot pot, tea eggs, and magazines. I was disappointed to see there was no wall of microwaves (when you buy hot food, the 7-11 crew will heat it up for you). Anne thinks that they're just not here yet and should be installed next week. I hope so! This 7-11 looks like it will be replacing the trips to the Family Mart across the street for snacks or sometimes lunch.
The convenient store battle has now become interesting!
Are there slurpees there?!?!?!?!
ReplyDeleteI don't think slurpees are a thing here! I've never seen a machine in any convenience store. Which is kinda surprising because it's bloody hot here. I guess bubble tea trumps it out. Bubble tea here is so broad. It encompasses fruit and tea slushees too. Even Mango ice cream tea drinks.
